The tower was designed by Skidmore, Owings and Merrill (SOM), who also designed the Willis Tower (formerly the Sears Tower) in Chicago and the new One World Trade Center in New York City. Burj Khalifa uses the bundled tube design.[37][38] Proportionally, the design uses half the amount of steel used in the construction of the Empire State Building thanks to the tubular system.[37][39] Its design is reminiscent of Frank Lloyd Wright's vision for The Illinois, a mile high skyscraper designed for Chicago. According to Marshall Strabala, a SOM architect who worked on the building's design team, Burj Khalifa was designed based on the 73 floor Tower Palace Three, an all residential building in Seoul. In its early planning, Burj Khalifa was intended to be entirely residential.[32]

I am a self taught artist. I have been in all mediums for over 30 plus years. My current medium that I enjoy is photography. I have only been doing this for the past 8 years and teaching myself along the way. I totally enjoy the landscape/travel aspect and wish to get in more into portrait. I really want to take several photos and manipulate them to create a master piece of an amazing scene at the same time making it looks so realistic. To me that is amazing.
